Shhh....
No one
say
a word.
I was about to despair
that we would be
"always winter and never Christmas".
But...
we'd already had Christmas.
It's March.
Yesterday
it snowed.
Sideways.
A lot.
All day.
Long
heavy
sigh...
Today though...
something different
happened.
Shhh...
The sky cleared.
Shhh...
The road straightened out.
Shhh...
Something green bravely popped its head up.
Shhh...
I really don't want to scare it away...
Today I love a walk in the sun...
Shhh...
I could see this poem coming to life through your choice of words. I so agree with you! We were blessed here in southwest Missouri with temperatures in the low 70s's and warm sunshine! Hopefully, it will come your way soon.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got some warm temps in MO! Today was just as beautiful as yesterday...maybe...maybe...shhh!
DeleteLove the poem and the photos. And the repetition.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I've had more fun than I ever thought I could trying poetry this month!
DeleteShhh! We really don't want to scare it away. Here's hoping spring will come and stay for awhile.

Thanks, friend! It looks like maybe if we are all really quiet, it just might stay longer than one day a time. We need to figure out what the opposite of flushing ice cubes down the toilet is!
DeleteI love being in the sun to.
ReplyDeleteThanks BD! I intend to get you and your class out in the sun on Wednesday!
